I doubt I'm capabled, individually, of taking advantage of that but I bet there are more than a few experienced gamers who could out-play the aim assist. In theory those shots will act differently from the target's perspective than most aim-assisted shots. However if someone is shooting at them without the aim assist they will have more control over where the shot lands. So, if you aim high on a ship you have targeted, the game knows to fire at an angle that will hit that point, not some point in the sea beyond. About the only thing I see it doing is helping with intervening obstacles.
